Unpour

Legal

Terms of use

Last updated October 19, 2026

The rules for using Unpour, in plain English. The short version: be honest, be decent to other players, and remember this is a game, not medical care.

01 Who we are

Unpour is an app made by Defineweb Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using Unpour, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

02 Who can use Unpour

You must be at least the legal drinking age where you live to use Unpour. That is 19 in most of Canada, 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and 21 in the United States. You need a real email address and you can have one account.

03 Unpour is not medical care

Unpour is a game that helps you track and reduce drinking. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and nothing in the app is medical advice.

If you drink heavily every day, stopping suddenly can cause serious withdrawal, including seizures. Talk to a doctor before you stop. If you are in crisis, call your local emergency number.

04 Your account

Keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away at hello@unpour.app if you think someone else is using it.

05 Playing fair

Unpour runs on the honour system. You agree to check in honestly and not to:

  • create fake accounts or use bots to check in
  • harass, threaten or spam other players through cheers, nudges, duels or invites
  • use a name or photo that is offensive or pretends to be someone else
  • try to break, copy or reverse engineer the app

We may reset points, remove badges, move you out of a league, or suspend your account if you break these rules.

06 Points, badges and leagues

Points, streaks, levels and badges are part of the game. They have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and we may change how they work to keep the game fair and fun. If we change scoring, we will tell you in the app first.

07 Duels and stakes

Duels are a friendly challenge between you and a friend. Any stake you agree on, like "loser buys coffee", is between the two of you. We do not hold, collect or pay out money and are not responsible for any bet.

09 What you share

You keep ownership of anything you add, like your name and photo. You give us permission to use it only to run Unpour, for example to show your name in a league table. See the privacy policy for how we handle your data.

10 Our app

The Unpour name, logo, badges, icons and app design belong to us. You may not use them without our written permission, except to share your own results from the app.

11 Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. When an account is closed, your data is handled as described in the privacy policy.

12 Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep Unpour running, but it is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

13 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to go to court where you live.

14 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Unpour grows. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Unpour after that, the new terms apply.
